Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 6, 2026

OpenRun respects your privacy. This page explains what data the waitlist website collects, why it is collected, and how you can ask to access, correct, or delete your data.

1. Who we are

OpenRun is an early-stage basketball platform for finding courts, games, players, workouts, and local basketball activity. The service is currently in development.

For privacy questions, contact kaenitube123@gmail.com. This email may later change to support@openrun.app.

2. Data we collect

When you join the waitlist, we may collect your email address, optional name, city or play area, country, beta tester interest, signup time, referral/source information, consent details, and basic technical information needed to run and protect the website, such as IP address, browser type, and server logs. We do not ask for your full home address or sensitive personal data on the waitlist.

3. Why we use your data

We use your data to add you to the OpenRun waitlist, send early access and launch updates, understand interest by city, area, or country, identify where beta demand is strongest, protect the website from spam or abuse, and improve the service before launch.

4. Legal basis

If you are in the EU or EEA, we process personal data under GDPR based on consent when you join the waitlist, legitimate interests when we protect the website and understand basic usage, and legal obligations if required by law. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.

5. How long we keep data

We keep waitlist data until OpenRun launches and we no longer need the waitlist, you ask us to delete it, we decide not to continue the waitlist, or the data is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.

6. Service providers

We may use trusted service providers such as Supabase for database storage, Vercel for website hosting, and an email provider such as Resend if we send confirmation or launch emails. We do not sell your personal data.

7. International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. If that happens, we will rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent, request data portability, or file a complaint with a data protection authority. To make a request, contact kaenitube123@gmail.com.

9. Children and younger users

The waitlist is not intended for children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal data from a child under 13 without proper permission, we will delete it. Before the full app launches, OpenRun should add stronger age, privacy, and safety rules for younger users.

10. Location data

The waitlist website asks only for a city or area and country so we can understand where people want to play. Exact addresses are not required. If optional browser-based location is added later, it would be used only to estimate city or area after you choose to allow it. The OpenRun app may later use location features to help users find nearby courts and games. If so, location use must be clearly explained in the app and controlled by device permissions.

11. Training and health information

OpenRun may include workouts, training tips, and basketball education. This information is for general fitness and sports education only. It is not medical advice. Stop training if you feel pain, dizziness, or unsafe symptoms and speak to a qualified professional when needed.

12. Security and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, but no online service can be guaranteed completely secure. We may update this policy as OpenRun changes. If changes are important, we will try to make them clear on the website or by email.
